Requesting Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters from Ireland

This document analyses the process of requesting Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) in criminal matters from Irish authorities, particularly focusing on the gathering of electronic evidence. It provides information on the basis for cooperation, requirements for MLA requests, grounds for refusal and contact information for the Irish Central Authority for MLA. It also includes a list of international conventions and agreements on the basis of which assistance can be provided as well as a specific template for MLA requests and a template for the declaration of assurances required by Irish legislation from requesting authorities.
